Help Desk Specialist

The Opportunity:


SYMOS is looking for a Help Desk Specialists to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast-paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users. The candidate should speak well in front of an audience and be able to present briefs to high-ranking government personnel and be able to provide whiteboard sessions and presentations to personnel in a clear, concise but comprehensive manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to end users to resolve technical problems on a variety of issues

  • Ensures a timely process through which problems are controlled (includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up)

  • Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support

  • Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution

  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem

  • Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties

  • Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional planning skills and ability to work within change management parameters

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with senior customers to field and troubleshooting questions and issue

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, processes, and techniques

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent and 3-10 years of experience in Systems Administration/Technical Support. A Journeyman labor category typically performs all functional duties independently. Six years’ work experience or an Associate degree plus 4 yrs work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.



Desired:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

  • Any Microsoft Certification

  • CompTIA Certification

  • HDI Certification
